At Berea Christian Church, we are a Bible-believing congregation dedicated to the Doctrines of Grace. Our faith is rooted in the Gospel, and we strive to glorify God in all that we do. Seeking fellowship with that great cloud of faithful witnesses, both historic and contemporary, we therefore heartily subscribe to "The Five Solas":
* Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone
* Sola Fide - Faith Alone
* Sola Gratia - Grace Alone
* Sola Christus - Christ Alone
* Soli Deo Gloria - To the Glory of God Alone
The contemporary theologian John Piper famously declared, "Missions exists because worship doesn't." This assertion highlights the God-centered motivation for Christian evangelism and congregational outreach that is both biblically-faithful and historically-accurate. Within the annals of Church history, true God-honored evangelism, from Philip in the Book of Acts to Adoniram Judson, John G. Paton, Lottie Moon, and Jim Elliott, has always pursued, as its ultimate goal, the multiplication of disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) who, in turn, aspired to the high-calling of becoming worshippers "in Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). Our vision, therefore, is one of engagement with the world for the purpose of the perfection of saints for the glory of our Sovereign God (Ephesians 4:12). Rather than retreat from the world, we boldly face it and joyfully declare, "Be reconciled to God!" (2 Corinthians 5:20)
Having served BCC for over a decade, Pastor Rob Stovall - a native of Georgia - is committed to a biblically-faithful ministry that enthusiastically highlights the grace of God toward sinners found only in Christ Jesus our Lord. In addition to his role as pastor at BCC, Pastor Rob is privileged to be the husband of Becky, the father of Bobby, Baylee, Brenna, and Blair, and the grandfather of Luna Jupiter Joy.

Sunday mornings at Berea Christian Church can be best described as follows: friendly, welcoming people engaged in simple, orderly, and reverent worship, employing the traditional biblical elements of prayer, praise, and passionate preaching. Our service is regulated by Scripture, and it is, therefore, centered around the Man of God preaching the Word of God to the People of God, with all things being empowered and directed by the Spirit of God toward the ultimate aim of the magnification of the glory of God.
We have no formal dress-code. Clothing style varies from coat-and-tie to polo shirt and chinos. We invite you to dress comfortably but thoughtfully. Our clothing should neither dishonor God nor distract our fellow-worshippers.
Majestic pipe organ and lively piano accompaniment undergird our enthusiastic congregational singing. Our voices unite using the theologically-rich lyrics of those time-honored and much-beloved hymns of the Faith. We honor God by singing back to Him the solid biblical theology contained in classics like "Amazing Grace."
While we do provide a nursery, we delight in the presence of children in our worship services. Your children are encouraged to learn to pray and praise alongside other more seasoned worshippers at BCC.
Your fellow-worshippers at Berea Christian Church will be representative of a variety of personal and professional backgrounds, some new to the area and others with deep roots in Suffolk, each with a unique pilgrimage of grace for which to be thankful. We are all, however, beneficiaries of a like-common salvation (Ephesians 2:8), trophies of the same redeeming grace of God through the shed-blood of His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. The most important Individual encountered during worship at BCC will be the Triune God Himself, the Primary Audience for our worship. It is His approval alone that delights our hearts and validates our weekly efforts.
We heartily welcome visitors, along with our members, every Sunday morning at 10am and 11am, as well as every Wednesday at 7pm.
